Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

  • Traverse the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass.

Itinerary:

Departing from Marrakech at 8:00 AM, we journey through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at an elevation of 2,260 meters.

Along the way, we’ll visit local cooperatives producing Argan oil.

Our next stop is the historic ksar of Aït Benhaddou.

After lunch, we proceed to Ouarzazate, where we’ll explore the Taourirt Kasbah.

Continuing through the Valley of Roses, renowned for its annual Rose Festival, we arrive at the Dades Gorges for dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional riad.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga: Marrakech to Fes Sahara tour

  • Experience the dramatic landscapes of the Todra Gorges.
  • Journey through the scenic Ziz Valley.
  • Arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga.

Itinerary:

Following lunch in Tinghir, we continue through the Ziz Valley, characterized by its lush palm groves and fortified villages.

Arriving in Merzouga, we prepare for a camel trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes, witnessing a mesmerizing sunset before reaching our desert camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Nomadic Experience

  • Witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes.
  • Visit Khamlia village and enjoy traditional Gnawa music.

Rise early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, a truly magical experience.

After breakfast, we embark on a 4×4 excursion around the Erg Chebbi dunes, visiting the village of Khamlia, where we’ll enjoy traditional Gnawa music.

We then visit nomadic families living in the desert, gaining insight into their unique lifestyle.

Returning to Merzouga, the afternoon is at your leisure to relax or explore further.

Dinner and overnight in a traditional kasbah hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Fes

  • Drive through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains.
  • Visit the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary macaques.
  • Explore the Swiss-like town of Ifrane.

Itinerary:

After breakfast, we depart Merzouga, passing through Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, and the lush Ziz Valley.

We continue to Midelt for lunch before crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains.

In the cedar forests near Azrou, we’ll have the opportunity to see Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.

Our journey then takes us through Ifrane,  for its alpine-style architecture, before arriving in Fes for dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional riad.

Day 5: Fes – Guided City Tour

  • Explore Fes el-Bali medina.
  • Visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the world’s oldest existing university.
  • Discover traditional tanneries and artisan workshops.

Itinerary:

After breakfast, a local guide will lead us through Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart.

We’ll explore the ancient medina, Fes el-Bali, with its labyrinthine streets, historic mosques, and bustling souks. Highlights include the Al-Qarawiyyin University, founded in 859 AD, and the Chouara Tannery, where leather is still processed using traditional methods.

Day 6: Fes – Departure

  • Transfer to Fes Saïss Airport.

After breakfast,  we provide a transfer to Fes Saïss Airport for your onward journey.
